The short answer
Two things make remote help fast: get your system online (its own antenna, or any Wi-Fi/hotspot), and send us your antenna debug log. With those, we can usually see what's wrong without you playing phone-tag through menus.
Step 1 β get your system online
We can only reach in β and your antenna can only pull updates β when the router has a working internet connection. If your antenna has signal, you're already set. If it doesn't, connect the router to any Wi-Fi network you have access to, like your phone's hotspot:
- Turn on your phone's hotspot (on iPhone: Settings β Personal Hotspot β Allow Others to Join). On some phones you have to stay on the hotspot screen for it to stay visible.
- On a device that's joined to your Insty Wi-Fi, open your dashboard at http://192.168.8.1.
- Add your hotspot as a Wi-Fi source (the router scans for networks, you pick yours and enter its password) and save. The router now has internet through your phone.
Step 2 β send us your antenna debug log
The debug log tells us what your antenna is actually doing:
- Open the modem/antenna dashboard at http://192.168.225.1.
- At the bottom of the page, tap the blue Β©InstyConnect text and enter the debug password. (It's in your Antenna/Modem Companion guide, or we'll give it to you.)
- Wait 3β5 minutes for the log to fill, then copy all the text in the Log Viewer and send it to support.
What else we might ask for
The Support Tools page (in the modem dashboard's Tools row) has the details our team uses β your IMEI, ICCID, and IMSI.
Still stuck?
