The short answer
Everything your Insty is doing lives on one screen โ think of it as your Insty app. It's really your router dashboard: join your Insty Wi-Fi, open http://192.168.8.1 in any browser, and you'll see your internet sources, signal, live speed, and every setting. It's the one place to start, and the one place to look whenever you want to check on things.
Open it
- Join your Insty Wi-Fi on your phone, tablet, or laptop. (The network name and password are on the sticker on the bottom of your router.)
- Open any web browser and go to http://192.168.8.1.
- That's the dashboard. Bookmark it โ better yet, add it to your home screen so it opens like an app (see below).
What you're looking at
- Internet Sources โ every way your system can get online (your antenna, a Starlink, a hotspot), newest at the top. Drag a source by the โก grip to set priority โ the top one is preferred. A Save button appears when you make a change.
- Each source card shows whether it's In use, its signal, a 30-minute stability graph, and live down / up speed and latency. Tap a card's โฐ menu for more.
- On Demand Internet โ turn paid data on only when you need it. Tap Enable Now to start; daily charges apply only while it's on.
- The four buttons โ quick jumps to Dashboard, Providers, Data plans, and a Speed test.
- Failover โ how aggressively the system switches sources if one drops. Balanced is what we recommend for most people.
- Router settings (bottom) โ Wi-Fi name/password, guest network, and the deeper stuff.

http://192.168.8.1 โ sources up top, tools in the middle, settings at the bottom.Make it a home-screen app
So it's always one tap away:
- iPhone/iPad (Safari): tap the Share icon โ Add to Home Screen.
- Android (Chrome): tap the โฎ menu โ Add to Home screen.
Still stuck?
If the dashboard won't load, make sure you're on the Insty Wi-Fi (not your phone's cellular or a different network), then reload. Still nothing? Reach out โ you'll get one of the family, not a call center.
Didn't find your answer?
When you reach out, you're talking to the family that built this.
