The short answer

Want to hand out Wi-Fi to guests without giving up your main password? Set up a guest network with its own name and password from Router Settings โ†’ Wireless.

Steps

  1. Open your dashboard at http://192.168.8.1 and tap Router Settings (at the bottom).
  2. Open Wireless.
  3. Pick the band you want the guest network on โ€” 5 GHz, 2.4 GHz, or both. Tap Modify to unlock the fields.
  4. Turn on the guest network, give it a name and its own password, and Save.

After you save

The router may briefly restart its Wi-Fi to apply the change. If your phone drops off for a moment, that's normal โ€” reconnect to your main network, and your new guest network will show up in the Wi-Fi list.

Why bother with a guest network?Guests get internet without ever seeing your main password, and you can change or remove the guest password anytime without kicking your own devices off.

Still stuck?

If the guest network doesn't appear after the Wi-Fi restarts, give it a full minute and re-check your Wi-Fi list. Still missing? Reach out and we'll take a look.
