The big idea: the modem lives inside the antenna — right where the signal is. One USB cable (up to 30 ft) carries data and power between antenna and router.

The LITE core parts laid out: USB antenna-modem, USB cable, router, power adapter
In the box
  • Your antenna (modem inside)
  • Long USB cable (up to 30 ft)
  • The router
  • AC power adapter

That's it — two boxes and one cable.

All four connect the same way — one USB cable into the modem (how-to on page 3).

1Wake up the router

Snap the wall plug onto the power adapter, plug it into the router, and give it a minute to boot.

Then open WiFi settings on your phone and join the network printed on the bottom sticker:

  • IC-AX1800-XXX — longer range
  • IC-AX1800-XXX-5G — fastest up close

Password = the sticker's WiFi Key (case-sensitive).

And that's the entire router setup — there isn't any. No wizard, no passwords to create; it arrives ready to go.

Bottom of the router — the sticker shows your WiFi network name and WiFi Key

Network name (SSID) + WiFi Key: bottom sticker.

⚠ Router is 12V DC only (12–14V if direct-wired).

2Install the app

In your browser: http://192.168.8.1
(type the http:// — not https)

It's normal to see an error here — the app shows “No Insty modem detected” because we haven't connected the antenna yet. Nothing's wrong; Step 3 clears it.

On your phone or tablet, scroll to the very bottom and tap ① Install app — it walks you through putting the app on your home screen (a couple of taps). That icon is your one home base for the whole system.

On a PC the button doesn't show — bookmark http://192.168.8.1 instead.

② Router settings — the only place a password ever comes up. Yours is pre-set to your WiFi Key (the same bottom sticker). Nothing to create, nothing to lose.
Top of the Insty dashboard at 192.168.8.1 Dashboard message: No Insty modem detected — clears automatically once the antenna is connected

3Connect the antenna

Here's the easy part — one USB cable does it all.

The LITE system connected: antenna, USB cable, and router

Antenna → one USB cable → router. That's the whole hookup.

1Plug the USB cable into the modem (the USB-C port on the antenna module).
2Plug the other end into the router's USB port.

That's it. The antenna gets data and power straight from the router over that one cable — nothing else to plug in on the antenna side.

Into the router's USB port.

Fitting the modem into your antenna
DRUM / MINI-DRUM — 4 screws on the bottom; the USB cable goes through the slot; the antenna wires line right up with the modem.
SQUARE — the lid comes off; route the USB cable through the lid.
WINDOW — the modem slides into its holder; USB at the bottom, the fatter antenna wires to the outer connectors.
ALL OF THEM — keep the antenna wires matched: outer wires → outer connectors, inner wires → inner connectors.
Those black cylinders on the cable are ferrite chokes — keep them on. They block interference. Running your own USB cable instead? Move the chokes onto it (and keep it under 30 ft).

4Watch it come alive

Open the app you installed in Step 2 — the icon on your phone, or http://192.168.8.1 on a PC.

The moment the antenna is connected, the dashboard shows it: your carrier's name and a live signal — like “T-Mobile 5G · 70%.” Run a speed test right there — getting speeds? You're done. Now make it permanent — mount the antenna and route the cable for good.

That same screen runs your whole service: enable your plan (tap Start, or switch On Demand on and off), change Providers, manage Data plans, and Speed test — it's all right there.

Good to know: the system keeps its own software up to date · the antenna has its own dashboard too, at http://192.168.225.1 — deeper modem details + SIM tools; support may send you there.

The dashboard alive: T-Mobile 5G with live signal, plan buttons, providers, speed test

Antenna in → dashboard alive: live signal, plans, providers, speed test.

Quick fixes
“No Insty modem detected” won't clear — reseat both ends of the USB cable (modem's USB-C and the router's USB port); try the router's other USB port if it has one.
“Not registered” / “Denied” — plan/SIM active? Right slot? Most plans use slot 1 — switch at 192.168.225.1.
No service — get the antenna up high with the clearest view (outdoor models outside, Window right at the glass); confirm coverage in your area.
SIM card error — a SIM isn't seated; open your antenna (page 3 shows how the modem sits) and re-seat the SIM cards.
Registered but no internet — insty.online: message us, we'll check your service. Own SIM: verify provider/APN + line active.
